Success Stories

New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade drafted the country’s first Voluntary National Review, gathering information from across the Ministries and also soliciting success stories from the community. The NZ SDG Summit 2019 Steering Group and Stakeholder Group are delighted to host these success stories here.

The UN’s Sustainable Development Goals provide an internationally accepted framework for finding solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges. In New Zealand they resonate with the current vision of a more productive, sustainable, inclusive economy to improve the wellbeing of New Zealanders.

MFAT has shared with us stories from New Zealanders on what’s happening around the country to implement the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Successive Summits will continue to provide a platform for the stories and add to them as local initiatives flourish. If you or your organisation have examples of work planned or underway reflecting progress, challenges and success towards the SDG’s, and would like to include your success story on our website, please email it to sustainability@auckland.ac.nz.

Please include the following:

  • contributions of no more than 400 words
  • a high resolution photograph (jpeg) that will help us to illustrate your Success Story;
  • a good quality logo that we can include (or more if more than one institution was involved), and
  • permission to post the typeset Success Story on the Summit website in pdf form.

The success stories will offer practical and inspiring examples of how New Zealanders are working towards meeting the goals.
